We are offering a significant number of appointments each week:
Approximately 1000 Doctors appointments
Approximately 550 Nurse, Healthcare Assistant or Phlebotomy appointments
Approximately 60 + First Contact Physio or Pharmacist appointments
Plus appointments with our Social Prescriber and appointments available in the local enhanced access clinics.
Despite this, we are still finding that our appointments list are becoming full most days.
Non-urgent advice: Ways that you can help
There are some things that you can do to help reduce the pressure on the surgery, which will in turn improve the service you can receive when you do need us.
1. If you are ordering repeat prescriptions, please try to order online via the NHS App or Systmonline. You can register to use the NHS App from your own home and do not need to attend the surgery. If you download the App onto your phone or tablet it will then take you through a process to authenticate your identity. Once this is complete you will be able to send through a request for a repeat prescription via the app at any time of day. The App is easy to use and much safer and easier for the practice to process as the requests are directly linked to your record. It also reduces the number of telephone calls to the practice, helping those that need to get through for urgent matters.
2. There are many short-term illnesses that either do not require treatment or can be treated with a medication that is available to buy over the counter. Please visit your pharmacist for help and advice. You do not need to make an appointment to speak to the pharmacist, you can just drop in anytime. For a list of all the things that your local pharmacist can help with please see the leaflet below.
